Virtual radios is a concept that makes N4PY programs be able to connect other third party programs to them. This allows you to connect a logging program (such as N1MM), panadapter program (such as HDSDR), digital programs (such as WSJT-X and FLDIGI), amplifier, via a Kenwood serial command interface. For other software to connect to N4PY Programs, there are 5 to 8 external ports that use a virtual comport pair for the connection. A virtual comport pair is nothing more than a software cable that has 2 paired comports, one on each end. Whatever is sent on one comport is received on the other one and vice versa. In this way and third party software can be connected to the N4PY Program.
The virtual comport pairs are made with VSPManager or Com0com utility programs available at no charge on the internet.
